that the option to go to the physical SSM counter has been taken off. You now
have the choice to select whichever is most convenient for you.

biggest advantage to registering your company on their web-based portal is that
it’s available online 24 hours, on all days of the week. Meaning that you may
register your company regardless if it was a weekend or a public holiday.

Companies Commission of Malaysia, or in BM, the SSM (Suruhanjaya Syarikat
Malaysia) enforces the Companies Act. The SSM is the authoritative body that
looks over all affairs with regards to businesses and companies in Malaysia.
This is a merging body formed in 2002 between the two prior different bodies;
the Registrar of Companies and the Registrar of Businesses.

Step 1- Website

- Your identity card number
- Your name as stated on the identity card

Step 5- Company name and Name search
Next you will have to register your official company name. The SSM requires you submit three potential names, wherein they will choose one. You may use the website to see if the name you want is available.
Step 6- Completion of forms
You will need to complete the following forms with the relevant details:

This form is with regards to your
company name and your business activities.
- The next form is form BORANG A (You may download it here)
This form is with regards to your
company registration and requires the following details:
Business Details:
- Name
- Official Address
- Partnership agreement status
- Telephone number etc.
- Description of business activities
- Details of owners/shareholders/directors/secretaries
Do note that these forms are in
Bahasa Melayu (the official language of Malaysia) and will require you to get
them translated to the language you prefer.
Step 7- Submission
- Once you have completed the details, you may submit the forms digitally along with the registration fee.
- The registration fee carries a cost of RM 1000.
